Contact and Updates
Our class website is updated very often. Please check regularly for pictures, events, and important information going on in our classroom and around Falls-Lenox. In the past, SeeSaw has been a great online portfolio to see student work, especially as the world moves more toward digital aspects as opposed to paper, and even more as this generation grows older.
Our classwork tends to focus more on the thinking process and learning, rather than getting answers and memorizing. We focus on a growth mindset and learning process to reach our full potential.
You will not see number or letter grades on work often. Most papers will have stars (areas done well) or steps (area to work to improve). For example, a star on a writing project may be, "Great job with capitals and punctuation," and a step may be something like, "Try using more creative words in your writing." In our classroom, students may have different expectations and different work based on individuals' needs. We focus more on equity, not necessarily equality, so each student is challenged to reach their full potential as well as getting the help each student needs to be successful.

Basic Homework Schedule - can change specifics, but a basic outline
Homework is for practice, keeping parents updated on what we are doing, and building responsibility. If it takes more than 20-30 minutes, please stop and leave me a note.
Homework passes can be turned in for one of the regular assignments below, not for unfinished work or some other assignments.
Every night - 15-20 minutes of PAWS-ing to Read
Every week - spelling Word Hunt homework - about two words a night, not the whole thing the day before it is due (due on the same day each week, whenever your spelling group meets)
Monday - PAWS to Read and write a response, library books
Tuesday - math Home Connections (HC) sheet
Wednesday - reading comprehension sheet or online
Thursday - math (HC) sheet, phys. ed. shoes
Victory Monday! No homework the day after a Browns win!
There is not usually a set snack time, but healthier snacks (granola bars, crackers, pretzels, Goldfish, etc.) are fine by me as long as they are not distracting. Please try to avoid messy snacks like fruit cups, yogurt, etc.
Water bottles are OK as well, but regular water only please. No juice, milk, flavored water, Gatorade, etc.
Birthday treats are welcome. Please make sure there are enough for all 22 students. Please make sure everything is ready to serve (cut, napkins, whatever is needed).
